State police: At least 2 dead in plane crash near Fredericksburg

Fifty-two-year-old Lisa Borinstein, 19-year-old Luke Borinstein and 15-year-old Emma Borinstein, were killed in Friday’s crash along with a foreign exchange student, said Joseph Borinstein, the children’s grandfather, speaking in a telephone interview Saturday.
The twin-engine aircraft, identified as a 1969-model Beech 95-B55, crashed at the edge of Shannon Airport outside Fredericksburg, about 55 miles southwest of Washington DC. All six were killed in the crash and subsequent fire.

Police said the plane crashed into the trees and immediately caught on fire.
Virginia State Police said the plane departed Louisville, Kentucky, on Friday morning, made a stop in Shelbyville, Indiana, and continued to its final destination in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
The rescue team have recovered the six bodies that were in the aircraft from the burned wreckage as five fire and rescue teams put out the blaze.
State police say six people have died in a plane crash in northern Virginia. Police were unable to confirm the exact number of passengers in the twin engine plane.
Anchorage Police said witnesses reported seeing the plane taking off just before the crash. She says she saw white smoke and then the crash.
Plane looks small but the fire is still going.
She said the crash occurred at 12:24 p.m. (12:24 p.m. EDT).

The small general aviation airport just outside the Fredericksburg City limits is just south of the Fredericksburg Agricultural Fairgrounds on US 17 Business (Tidewater Trail).
