Clinton a saint compared to Trump
Last year, the Clintons earned $10.6 million and paid $3.6 million in federal taxes, for a tax rate of 34.2%, according to the family’s recently released 2015 tax return.

The Clintons’ income puts them well within the ranks of the top 0.1 percent of Americans, though they pay a higher tax rate than many of their elite peers, according to an analysis by the nonpartisan Tax Foundation, based on 2013 data.
The former US leader, responding to a question about Hillary Clinton’s trustworthiness at a forum sponsored by Asian-American organizations, said it would be “inconceivable [that] all the prominent national security people, including Republicans, would have endorsed her” if they did not believe in her ability to protect secrets.
The White House declined to comment on Trump’s accusation.
Media largely interpreted Trump’s Second Amendment comments literally, as they did similar statements when the NY business mogul implored Russian Federation to find Clinton’s missing emails, though in that case he insisted he was being sarcastic.
Trump has yet to release his returns, and claims they are still being audited by the IRS. All major USA presidential candidates in modern history have released their returns.
“In stark contrast, Donald Trump is hiding behind fake excuses and backtracking on his previous promises to release his tax returns”, Palmieri added.
“Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine continue to set the standard for financial transparency”, Clinton campaign aide Jennifer Palmieri said in a statement on Friday.
Democrats believe Trump’s returns could be treasure trove of politically damaging information.
For years, Republican governors and state lawmakers have enacted voter ID laws that they say are needed to stop fraud.
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton traveled to MI on Thursday, using the quintessential Rust Belt state as a setting to talk economics, just as Republican nominee Donald Trump had done a few days earlier. Trump has called President Barack Obama the “founder” of the Islamic State group. Obama repeatedly used Romney’s business dealings against him and seized upon his reluctance to release certain tax records. She also spoke of making companies refund the cost of any federal, state or local tax benefit they received if they uproot U.S.jobs and move work offshore.
At a rally on Sunday, Trump disparaged the Times and reiterated his objection to how his events are covered. The Clintons made about 90 times more, reporting almost $28 million for the same year. She offered few new details on her own policy, and instead devoted most of her time to slamming Donald Trump’s tax plan, which he discussed Monday. A message seeking comment was left with Bergman’s campaign manager. “Contrasting her own upbeat message with Trump’s, she said, ‘He is missing so much about what makes MI great”.
Ordinary Americans may argue that writing books, giving paid speeches and doing a bit of well-compensated consulting isn’t labor the way most people think of it.
Despite claims from Trump that the polls are “getting close”, a string of polls conducted by Marist College for NBC News and the Wall Street Journal suggest the opposite, with states thought to be battlegrounds showing Clinton opening up a wide lead over the Republican presidential nominee.
Trump lobbed the allegation midway through his rally at a sports arena, where riled-up supporters shouted obscenities about Clinton and joined in unison to shout “lock her up”.
In other Iowa intrigue: In a speech at the Iowa State Fair, conservative Republican Rep. Steve King called Clinton “somebody I can work with”, the Des Moines Register reported. She commanded her highest rate from EBay, which paid her $315,000 for a March 2015 address in San Jose.
Donors who gave at least $200 to former Republican candidates like Jeb Bush, John Kasich and Chris Christie, have – since the general election began in earnest in June – given $2.2 million to Clinton, compared with only $1.6 million for Trump, a recent New York Times analysis of FEC filings found.

Grant Reeher, director of the Campbell Public Affairs Institute at the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, told The Hill that the Clinton campaign is well positioned for the home stretch of the campaign after Labour Day.
