Arsene Wenger: ‘Lack of experience cost Arsenal against Liverpool
Arsene Wenger reckons Arsenal are in a catch 22 situation when it comes to the fitness of their players after several sat out Sunday’s remarkable 4-3 opening day defeat to Liverpool.

Ramsey has a hamstring injury while Iwobi has a problem in his thigh.
Arsenal fans were clearly disappointed by the result but I think they will have to accept that, while they are going to win a lot of games this year, they are also probably going to lose more than usual because the Premier League is getting stronger and the number of sides challenging for the Champions League places has increased.
“When we scored for 4-1, we have to make sure that we don’t concede and it happened with a deflection which was a bit of bad fortune”, Mignolet told reporters.
“Ramsey [and others] – they all came back later. We had four players who went very late”.
While the likes of Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Mesut Ozil watched the game from the stands, Ramsey had to go off injured for Santi Cazorla in the 61st minute.
“We’ve got confidence and belief” says Lallana Lallana, and his teammates, celebrate Coutinho’s second goal.
“We will see what happens and injuries can always happen unfortunately but improvement, in my understanding, is about training and using the quality you have”. It looked like after half an hour, it looked a little bit like it wasn’t a Liverpool today, but we struck back, and that’s very important.
“You have to consider, as well, that we have been unlucky with losing Mertesacker and Gabriel, and having Koscielny not fit”. “You have to sometimes accept that you can not control absolutely everything”.
Granit Xhaka – the club’s only major signing this summer – came on as a 67th-minute substitute while 20-year-old Rob Holding, who arrived from Bolton Wanderers last month, started at centre-back, but Arsenal have so far been outspent by all of their expected title rivals.
Both players will undergo tests on Monday.
Arsenal took the lead courtesy of Theo Walcott before the Reds hit back with some dazzling football.
Asked what pleased him most about the victory, Klopp said: “Staying in the game”. “We started the game not so brightly after we thought we had quite a good pre-season but it’s always hard coming to Arsenal”.
Henry fully understood why their ire was mostly reserved for Arsene Wenger and not the young team on the pitch. But we’ll see first what we can do with the players who are preparing at the moment and how many players are injured today – can they recover for next week?
“It was so intense, so warm, the first game”. Scored a stunning goal and was a threat all afternoon.
“And only then can you have a chance in the Premier League”.
“But when we defend better, we are still a threat for each opponent and scoring goals”.

“We’ve been told, towards the end of last season, that ‘Arsenal was wealthy, we have money, we can compete with anyone on the market'”.
