Joseph Gordon-Levitt wants to jam with you
Joseph Gordon-Levitt surprised commuters by busking on a subway platform in Los Angeles. This week, The Huffington Post is premiering the five-part series, beginning today with an introductory documentary called “Are You There, Democracy?” The actor, who grappled with these questions himself while portraying Snowden, teamed up with the ACLU, to which he has reportedly donated the remainder of his salary from the film.

“Snowden” opens in theaters on September 16. The challenge reads, “Musicians, Vocalists, Performers – Go outside to an everyday location and make it spectacular by dressing up and playing your parts to [Jeff Peff’s] music while FILMING YOURSELF!”
But nobody asked Joseph about HitRecord, or-perhaps more pressingly-why he was chilling on a damn subway platform. “You can sing, dance, play around, dress up in costumes, do any kind of extraordinary activity”, Joseph added about the project on his HitRecord site. “So in the end, we’ll have a big, vibrant, beautiful, spectacular, collaborative piece of art”.

“You look like Pee-Wee Herman in that suit”, one man said as he leaned out of the stopped subway while others appeared to not pay Gordon-Levitt too much attention.
