Barcelona Defender Suspends Talks With Club As Arsenal Launch Enquiry
Arsenal have made an inquiry over the availability of Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu, according to reports in France.

The report claims that Mustafi’s dad has said there is now no deal in place that would send Mustafi to Arsenal.
Speaking to German newspaper Spox, Bulut said: “It now just remains for the teams to come to an agreement over the fee”.
If the deal does happen, Mustafi would be a great addition to Arsenal, and he would provide them with some of the experience they are looking for.
According to The Sun, the Frenchman could now fill that void, with the Gunners hitting a huge stumbling block in their bid to sign Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi, with his father dismissing the transfer talk and insisting that his alleged agent isn’t his representative.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could be forced to abandon his frugal approach to the transfer market though due to the serious injury concerns in defence.
Arsenal are in desperate need of a centre-half with Per Mertesacker (knee), Gabriel Paulista (ankle) and Laurent Koscienly (not match fit) unavailable for the start of the season, which begins at home against Liverpool on Sunday.

Having been tipped to leave Arsenal all summer, French global Mathieu Debuchy could now be included in Arsene Wenger’s XI for the club’s opening Premier League fixture of the season against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
