Hillary Clinton released her 2015 tax filings on Friday morning, shedding light on her ample earnings and putting more pressure on Donald Trump to reveal his own.

Clinton’s campaign also released 10 years of returns from running mate Tim Kaine and his wife, Anne Holton.

Over the last decade, the couple has donated 7.5 per cent of their income to charity, the campaign said, and paid an effective tax rate of 25.6 per cent previous year. That comes to an effective federal tax rate of around 34%.

This marks the 39th year the couple that the couple has released their tax returns to the public.

Trump has so far declined to release his, arguing that his tax returns for the past several years are being audited.

Trump’s comments Friday echoed – but went even further than – his statements last week in OH that he’s “afraid the election is going to be rigged”.

The Clintons main sources of income were Mr Clinton s paid speeches, to the tune of $5.2 million, and a payment to Hillary Clinton from the publisher of her last book, Simon & Schuster, for three million dollars. Of that number, however, $1 million went to their own Clinton Family Foundation, a separate endeavor from the Clinton Foundation.

In speeches, tweets and TV appearances, Trump and his backers in recent days suggested he would be ahead in the polls if the media didn’t favor his opponent, Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Trump surrogates point to the fact that Trump did release an estimate of his income when he ran for president in the form of financial disclosure forms that are required to seek the office in the first place. Clinton had previously released her returns dating to 1997. Clinton held a 45% to 40% lead in Florida, considered a pivotal state for both parties.

Clinton is releasing the returns for two reasons: transparency and the opportunity to bash Donald Trump.

When asked what his tax rate was exactly, Trump responded, “It’s none of your business”. The Kaines paid an effective rate of 20% a year ago on $313,000 in income.

In 2014, when neither Clinton was running for president, the couple earned a cool $28.3 million in combined income. He can bring his tax return, Nobody is going to arrest us. Manafort said that only local media covered Trump’s rallies in swing states the past week and that the media didn’t report on newly released emails that provided additional evidence that Clinton Foundation donors got access at the State Department.

Earlier this week he caused a major stir with comments about the Second Amendment that were perceived as advocating violence against Clinton, then faced questions yet again after declaring Wednesday that President Barack Obama was the “founder” of Daesh (also known as ISIS) – a patently false claim.
