Pep Guardiola says his controversial decision to leave out English worldwide Joe Hart for Manchester City’s clash with Sunderland could prove a one-off, and gave no indication that the goalkeeper could be sold.

The Argentine stopper was a shock selection in Pep Guardiola’s first Blues team as they began the season with a 2-1 win over Sunderland.

“I know Joe’s quality, he’s an fantastic goalkeeper, he’s the goalkeeper with the national team, the last years he was so important to win the two Premier Leagues, the cups, and titles, the personality, the character, I know that”. He’s a fighter. Of course we want more of him, but I’m very happy, he’s a very nice guy. For the first game there were so many good things that I didn’t expect to see.

A debut disaster for Paddy McNair, who had only been on the pitch a few minutes, saw the ex-Manchester United defender nod the ball into his own net whilst challenging Delph in the air.

The Northern Ireland worldwide signed from City’s cross-town rivals Manchester United earlier this week and his unwitting intervention denied David Moyes a creditable point on his bow as Sunderland manager.

“We can take positives from the performance because we did an bad lot of good things today”, he said. He was great today, he was great yesterday. He also hoped that this drop would upset him, but he would react to it positively and look to fight for his place. “So we’ve not hidden everything”. Robert Snodgrass scored in the 57th minute, and the club just last season that were in the Champions League earned an important early three points to help assure they stay up this season. If Everton are to buy Hart for the rumored £40m, I think that they would be massively overspending, especially because Hart is close to 30 years-old. “I wanted aggression without the ball, to create a good build up”. “They avoided relegation, we’ve now got to keep the momentum going”.
