On Monday, he got his wish.
The Ravens finally have their defensive leader back on the field. The 2011 National Football League defensive player of the year has recorded double-digit sacks in his last four full seasons.
He opened training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and did not take part in any drills leading up to the Ravens first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. He has not practiced in nearly a year.
Suggs, 33, recorded 12 sacks in 2014 and 10 the previous year.

Throughout the offseason, Dumervil maintained a relentless positivity about their prospects for this season, saying that the pair could once again reclaim their title as the best sack tandem in the NFL. “I will speak with the media when I am fully back practicing”.
