Sanne Wevers of the Netherlands pushed past Simone Biles and Laurie Hernadez to win gold for balance beam with a 15.466 at the Rio Games on Monday. In qualification, Onyschko scored 14.53 points for her routine. After she almost fell off the beam, Biles had to wait through the routines of five more gymnasts, including Wevers, to see if she would make the podium.
The mistake opened the door for Wevers, who put together an elegant set to earn a 15.433.
The silver medal was a bit of redemption for Hernandez, who has been battling a minor injury and was held out of the all-around competition.
The all-around champion took bronze on balance beam Monday. Sixteen-year-old Laurie Hernandez of the USA took second with a polished and poised routine, and Biles took the bronze.
-Eleftherios Petrounias of Greece took gold on the men’s rings final with a score of 16.000.
Zanetti lost out on the top prize by just 0.234 of a point while Russia’s Denis Abliazin had to settle for bronze.
-North Korean gymnast Ri Se-Gwang won gold on the men’s vault, with Russian Denis Abliazin winning silver for his second medal of the day.

Biles can still join Ecaterina Szabo (1984), Vera Caslavska (1968) and Larisa Latynina (1956) as a four-time gold medalist with Tuesday’s floor final. Japan’s Kenzo Shirai bounced back from his disappointment in the floor exercise finale to finish third.
