While many find OS X to be a useful operating system for certain applications, it does have a few compatibility limitations, which is why Apple has supplied its Boot Camp tool for years, allowing Mac owners to install a copy of Windows in a hard drive partition.

Boot Camp 6 is only available on select Mac Pro, Mac mini, iMac, Macbook Pro, and MacBook Air computers dating back to mid 2012. Like a Windows 10 disc image (ISO) and an installation DVD or USB stick.
Boot Camp 6 also continues to support the use of a Mac’s peripheral ports within Windows 10, including USB 3, USB-C (on the new Retina MacBook), Thunderbolt, built-in SD and SDXC card slots, built-in or external Apple SuperDrives, and the Mac’s keyboard/mouse/trackpad.

Some users are reporting that they’re able to install Windows 10 right now with the latest Mac software update. Just make sure Boot Camp is up to date first. The necessary support software (drivers) for Windows 10 are automatically downloaded when you use Boot Camp Assistant. Upgrading from 64-bit Windows 7 or 8.1 is free.
