‘Jessica Jones’ Showrunner Teases Season 2 Direction
“Jessica Jones” may not have its second season until 2018 comes along, but it doesn’t mean that fans aren’t eager to know what will come of Marvel’s heavy-drinking meta human Jessica Jones, when the series’ next batch of episodes arrive.

There is no premiere date for Season 2 of Jessica Jones, but the series is expected to return sometime in 2017 on ABC. She mentioned that they would not create a character who was similar to the villain of the first season.
Instead, it now appears that the upcoming season of “Jessica Jones” will take a detour and feature not one, but several, villains.
On developing the supporting cast: “We can really get into some very interesting aspects of their characters and where they’re from, where they’re going, all these things”.
“What’s nice for us over on our side of the hall, is if we think – we’re still shaping what we want to do, but we’re like, maybe we can set them up over in the Defenders, let’s go talk to Doug and Marco, and we’re like, ‘Hey, what do you think about this?’ So it’s nice”.
There are some Jessica Jones fans eager to see that relationship evolve even further, hoping that romance will blossom between Jessica and Trish. Jessica’s (Krysten Ritter) relationship with the absolutely wicked Kilgrave (played to chilling perfection by David Tennant) was at the forefront of the narrative, and many were left wondering where the second season would go without his menace. I’m super excited about that. Rosenberg also related that the relationship that she intends to keep exploring is the one between Jessica and adoptive sister, Trish. “The objective is not to match that, not to try to do that again”, Rosenberg said. That’s the core of the show.

The showrunner has not revealed much about the plot of the show, as Jessica will be starring in Marvel’s crossover show “The Defenders”, but it is quite understandable that after the action-packed ending of season 1, the bond between Jessica and Trish will ensue in a new and deeper way. “That [their friendship] is the core relationship in the piece”.
