Van Jones Just Doesn’t Get Investigation Into Clinton Foundation

The general public doesn’t realize that, while the Justice Department in Washington may not be proceeding with any formal Clinton Foundation investigation, that does not rule out authorized probes by FBI field offices and their counterparts at the U.S. Attorney’s offices, according to Hosko.

The New York-based probe is being led by Preet Bharara, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York.

“The Civil Frauds Unit has collected close to $500 million in settlements since its inception, including multi-million dollar settlements with Deutsche Bank and CitiMortgage for faulty lending practices and other fraudulent conduct”. Newly released emails from Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state raised questions about the nature of the department’s relationship with the Clinton Foundation. Cornyn had previously called for a special counsel to be appointed in the investigation into Clinton’s private email setup.

“The State Department is not aware of any actions that were influenced by the Clinton Foundation”, State spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau said during a briefing Thursday. “They basically confirmed that there’s an investigation and they’re not going to talk about it”.

Hosko was responding to TheDCNF report Friday that multiple FBI field offices and U.S. Attorneys in various cities are leading investigations about possible corrupt practices among Clinton Foundation officials, foundation donors, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and inner circle of aides during her years as America’s chief global diplomat.

“The right-wing organization behind this lawsuit has been attacking the Clintons since the 1990s, and no matter how this group tries to mischaracterize these documents, the fact remains that Hillary Clinton never took action as secretary of state because of donations to the Clinton Foundation”, Clinton campaign spokesman Josh Schwerin said in a statement.

“The Clintons’ fundraising operation-$3 billion amassed by one couple, working in tandem for more than four decades-has no equal”, the Post reported.

In the letter, Cornyn asked Lynch whether the CNN report is accurate, which employees were involved in the decision not to open a case and why the department declined to probe the Clinton Foundation. “The idea that this poses a conflict of interest is absurd”.

He also touches upon in the book “how much money flows into the Clinton Foundation from places that horribly oppress women”.

In the earlier reported investigation by the Department, which violations of criminal law were considered?

A separate investigation was approved involving Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who was a major director to the foundation for most if its existence.
