A man who identified himself as Smith’s brother told CBS Sunday,”We are losing loved ones everyday to the people that are sworn in to protect us”. Hale said he has four grown children, three of whom are in training or studying to be in law enforcement.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has issued a proclamation applying the city’s curfew for teenagers to 17-year-olds. “It was going to happen eventually, it was just a matter of when.”Jones said when he was growing up in the 1970s and ’80s, he had a job each summer”.

Police took to social media to keep the public updated during the overnight protests.
He also said he had concerns for the shooting officer’s safety, Fox6now reported.
There could’ve been many more arrests, but the chief said making arrests wasn’t their primary goal here.
“In a general sense they’re connected in the same way they were connected in Baltimore and Ferguson”, Levine said. “Once you put on the uniform, you’re blue, and blue sees black as bad”.
Flynn said it was “an error in narrative to assume” that because police shot someone that the shooting will be controversial “so let’s have a riot”.
“There’s so much anger in these kids”, Brewer said. Smith then ran “a few dozen feet” before turning back toward the officer while holding a gun.
The mayor of a city dealing with unrest in one of its inner city neighborhoods is telling some of its young citizens they must be home at 10 p.m. on weekdays.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting that both the man shot by police – 23-year-old Sylville Smith – and the cop who shot him are black. Multiple reports of shots fired have come in since then, as well as reports of a vehicle fire. Majority eventually dispersed.
As many as 100 protesters massed at 44th Street and Auer Avenue between 8 and 9 p.m., surging against a line of 20 to 30 officers. The chief says there were 14 arrests for disorderly conduct. Smith died at the scene, and a second 23-year-old man was taken into custody. Police had to use an armored vehicle to rescue him.
“The (communist group) showed up, and actually they’re the ones who started to cause problems”, Flynn said at a news conference Monday.
Tension gripped Milwaukee on Monday as officials hoped a late night curfew imposed on teenagers would deter another outbreak of rioting that hit the U.S. Midwestern city the past two nights in response to the police shooting of an armed black man. Protestors threw rocks and there was gunfire in the crowd as hundreds of people confronted police after an officer shot and killed a fleeing armed man earlier in the day. The group said it supports “the liberation” and “the quality of life of disenfranchised” people of color.
“It’s the police. This is the madness that they spark up.
I think Chicago set the modern record with a week”, Chief Ed Flynn said during a press conference Sunday, according to Fox.
