Charlie Blackmon’s scorching road trip through Texas and Philadelphia netted the Rockies center fielder the National League player of the week award, MLB said Monday.

Severino (1-8) allowed seven runs and eight hits in 3 2/3 innings, leaving him with a 7.19 ERA. “I was ready for my chances”. “You sometimes go through hot streaks where they last a long time, and mine haven’t really been lasting long”. After starting out the year 2-4 with an 8.81 ERA through his first nine games (six starts), he’s 5-3 with a 3.50 ERA in the 11 games since June 14 and 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in his last four starts – though his team is 1-3 during that span. Although the area went numb after he got hit, Morgan only had a bruise afterwards.

Arenado had a pair of errors and Chatwood and Daniel Descalso had one each for Colorado.

“I always like to attack with fastballs”, Chatwood said, according to Major League Baseball’s official web site.

Charlie Blackmon #19 of the Colorado Rockies crosses home plate after hitting a solo home run in the seventh inning of the game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on August 14, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Weiss and Anderson both insisted after the game that it was not intentional.

The Phillies scored three runs in the fifth to break a 3-all tie.

Franco had launched a three-run homer off Anderson in the first inning and let loose with his usual celebration – blowing a kiss to the sky before he stepped on home plate, then pointing to the stands and skipping to the dugout while high-fiving teammates. Freddy Galvis hit the go-ahead RBI single, Paredes doubled home a run and Cesar Hernandez had an RBI single to give the Phillies a 6-3 lead.

The win gave the Phillies (56-63) a three-game sweep, their first against the Rockies since 2012.

Philadelphia didn’t have as many errors – their lone error occurred on the first play of the game when Odubel Herrera botched a catch in shallow center field – but there were plenty of other miscues that added up. He wasn’t able to throw his fastball away to right-handers or inside to lefties or finish on his breaking ball. Second-base umpire Gary Cederstrom called Blackmon out, but replays showed Hernandez never touched Blackmon.

Blackmon avoided the tag with a nifty slide in which he kicked his legs away from Hernandez.

Asked if there was any correlation between the hit batsmen, Weiss said, “None whatsoever”.

OF Carlos Gonzalez saw a 19-game hitting streak come to an end on Sunday when he went 0-1 in a pinch-hitting appearance against the Phillies. He was out of the starting lineup after starting Saturday night’s game, but said he didn’t suffer a setback and the club thought it best for him to rest his ankle on a day game following a night game. The next batter, Nick Hundley did the same, except his was a line drive that caught Morgan on his pitching arm.

Jackie Bradley Jr. chipped in with a two-run homer for the Red Sox, who closed a six-game homestand at 4-2.
