Notre Dame Football Uniforms: Irish to Wear All-Green Alternates for Fenway

The Notre Dame football team will pay tribute to baseball’s most beloved ballpark when they face Boston College at Fenway Park this November.

Heading into fall camp, it looked like Notre Dame was still looking for a way to get under the 85-man limit. They feature a green jersey, green trousers, green socks and green cleats, with a gold helmet up top.

Just like pretty much every Shamrock Series uniform, this latest rendition is sure to meet mix reviews. There are also “references in the design to Notre Dame’s past, such as the 11 national championships”.

But Notre Dame won’t be the only participant in the contest with a fresh look. The uniforms are meant to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Doug Flutie’s game winning Hail Mary touchdown pass from that season.

Boston College teased its uniforms for the game on Thursday morning.

Notre Dame’s history wearing green against Boston College hasn’t been positive. The Fighting Irish lead the series 13-9 and have won the last four matchups between the two programs.
