Wendell Pierce, of The Wire and Treme fame, had his home destroyed by the flooding in Baton Rouge, La., 11 years after his childhood home was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Pierce told TMZ he lost his home, everything he had.

Earlier in the day, Pierce took to Twitter to share thoughts and ask for aid.

He declined to give a message to the Baton Rouge community, calling the circumstances “a private pain”. “I am reminded of the generosity given to my family during Katrina. Now we will care for you”, he tweeted on Sunday.

Seven people had died because of the storms and flooding as of Monday (08-15-16). “You will find heirlooms @rodderher that will have been changed in a way that brings new meaning to them. Inanimate objects brought to life”, he responded.

According to People, his parents lost their Pontchartrain Park home during Hurricane Katrina back in 2005.
