The number 22 represents the 22 former service members who take their own life each day.

Evans is just the latest on a growing list of celebrities to take part in the challenge.

Celebrities are sprinting online to raise awareness for the 22 USA veterans who commit suicide every single day. As Chris gets on the floor to start the challenge, Dodger refuses to stop playing, licking the actor’s ear and playfully biting his wrist in an attempt to get him to stop.

On Monday, Newton-bred actor/buff person John Krasinski posted a video on social media of himself doing push-ups, but for reasons that go way beyond being #hashtag #fit.

The trend of Marvel heroes joining the challenge continues with the participation of Guardian of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt, who took on the 22 Push-Up Challenge with his wife Anna Faris.

For those who would like to participate in the 22 Push-Up Challenge, there is actually no requirement to reach 22 push-ups if it is not possible for you.

The campaign spearheaded by 22Kill, is similar to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge: it calls for people to do 22 push-ups for 22 days to raise awareness for mental health issues among veterans and then nominate their friends to do the same.
