They will now play Brazil’s Agatha Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas in Tuesday’s semifinals.

On Sunday, fans were on their side, serenading Walsh Jennings with “Happy Birthday” as the Rio de Janeiro clock turned to midnight and she turned 38.

But Walsh Jennings can’t go all out and celebrate her birthday just yet. Even when she isn’t, she is a beach volleyball player, meaning she plays on a beach.

The No. 1 ranked team, Larissa and Talita of Brazil, will take on Germany’s Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst in the other semifinal. Her dominance also includes three golds in the World Championships, as well as the most wins in a career by a female professional volleyball player, breaking May-Treanor’s old mark of 112 titles. Walsh Jennings said it’s more like 5 a.m. The new partnership got off to a rough start with a third-place finish at the FIVB World Tour Fuzhou Open and soon Walsh Jennings was sidelined with a shoulder injury, which she dislocated twice during the 2015 season.

“The boys did it last time”. She also said: “I have no problem with [the bikini]”.

They call her “Six Feet of Sunshine”, and Kerri Walsh Jennings is pretty good under the moonlight, too.

Despite that injury setback, not being the favorite and with what surely will be a raucous crowd rooting against her, Walsh Jennings said she and Ross are confident they can beat Agatha and Barbara. ‘They play at a high level and every time I caught a glimpse they seemed so into it and when we won they seemed so proud’. “They deserved to win, but we gave them a really, really hard win”. Eastern, and Team USA’s women are still in the hunt for a gold medal.

But she’s going to try. I have three kids, I have a loving, very supportive husband, and we’re doing this together.
