McConnell said Senate Republicans were going to be “on defense” in this year’s election, regardless of who ended up leading the ticket as the party’s presidential candidate, the AP reported.
Clinton led Trump by more than five percentage points in a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday.
“Don’t believe the garbage you read”, he continued.
The RNC is continuing to stand by its presidential candidate, saying it won’t make a decision about support and spending until fall.
“Polls say several Republican Senate and House seats that had been safe aren’t so safe anymore as an anti-Trump vote is trickling down to other races”.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus had privately expressed frustrations at Trump’s delay in endorsing House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan in his primary contest for re-election.

Trump’s campaign says things are moving in the right direction, a position that itself feeds the discontent among his GOP detractors. “Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new President”. The Priorities USA Action Super PAC, which supports Clinton, has raised about $22 million through June from California donors.
After two messages left at the number of Trump’s New Jersey headquarters were not returned, POLITICO visited the nondescript suburban complex listed as its address.
Trump is scheduled to speak in Ohio. And Trump’s brand and style aren’t winning over the general public as much as they did for disaffected Republican voters.
Trump has been mired in repeated controversies in recent days.
“I definitely don’t think that Hillary is as divisive as Trump”, she said.

The network’s [Fox] Eric Bolling asked if the ongoing tension between Trump’s campaign and the Republican Party put at risk Trump’s access to the party’s turnout systems and data. Trump was scheduled to hold another rally in Pennsylvania on Friday, in Altoona. It’s true of every Republican presidential nominee.
