Gov. Charlie Baker, a Swampscott Republican, has said he won’t vote for Trump, Clinton or Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson, the former governor of New Mexico.

Adding to Trump’s woes this week was a report in The New York Times that the name of his campaign manager, Paul Manafort, was on secret ledgers showing cash payments of more than $12 million from a Ukrainian political party with close ties to Russian Federation.

However, with some states polling within the margin of error, the map could easily be flipped for either party. Even so, just 26 percent said Clinton’s selection of Kaine would make it more likely for them to support the Democratic nominee, while 7 percent said it would make them less likely and a full two-thirds – 66 percent – said it would not make a difference.

The survey found Clinton leading Trump in every geographic part of Virginia except the rural southwest, the state’s most reliably conservative corner.

The survey also polled NY voters on a crucial question of the 2016 election: Do we need to make America great again? 5 percent of the voters were truly persuadable to go either way.

However, a week after the RNC, comments made by Trump about a speaker at the Democrat National Convention – a Muslim father of a USA fallen soldier – caused a backlash against Trump among GOP members and voters, demonstrated in the polls.

“Despite Trump’s claims to carry NY, the Empire State seems firmly planted on the blue side of the map”, Greenberg said.

– Donald Trump is hoping New York, New Jersey and CT will do something they haven’t done in years and help put a republican nominee over the top in the general election.
