The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled early Monday that Darya Klishina is eligible to take part in Tuesday’s long jump qualifying because she has been based outside of Russian Federation for the last three years and has been subjected to regular drug testing.

She posted: “Yesterday I appealed the decision by the IAAF to ban me from the Rio Olympic Games and other IAAF global competitions to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Ad Hoc division in Rio)”.
The IAAF has not disclosed what new information it has. At the World Indoor Championship in 2014, she finished 7th.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has cleared Russia’s Darya Klishina to compete in the long jump at Rio 2016. “(Having been) based in the United States for three years now, I have been nearly exclusively tested outside of the anti-doping system in question.
But in the early hours of Monday, CAS issued a statement saying the Russian’s appeal against suspension had been upheld. It also shed light on the reasons for the IAAF’s decision.
The country escaped a blanket ban despite the grave allegations, but athletes had to meet strict criteria to compete in Brazil, with some 280 of them now at the Olympics.
“The parties were informed that the application was upheld and that the athlete remained eligible to compete in the Olympic Games in Rio”, – CAS statement. She was given the green light since she has trained outside of Russian Federation for the past three years and underwent the systematic drug-testing.
The IAAF has confirmed that Klishina is now allowed to join the Games and will take part in qualifications on Tuesday.
The rest of Russia’s track-and-field athletes were banned from the Olympics by CAS last month.
Russia’s inclusion at the Rio Games have been tepid to downright hostile.

“Now we need to settle down and wish Dasha (Klishina) good luck”, sports minister Vitaly Mutko said on Interfax agency. Two years before at the London Summer Games, Russian athletes won 79 medals, of which 22 were gold.
