HEB Acquires Six Sun Fresh Markets
H-E-B Grocery Stores have purchased six locations in the DFW area, possibly paving the way for its first store in the Metroplex. H-E-B didn’t disclose terms of the deal, nor did it say when the stores would reopen under its ownership. Spokeswoman Mabrie Jackson told the Dallas Morning News that the company was “thrilled” to have the properties.

Sun Fresh Markets is closing the six stores.
The closest H-E-Bs are in Burleson, Waxahachie, Ennis, Granbury, Corsicana and Cleburne.
H-E-B is still “evaluating the feasibility of each site” and “Central Market continues to be the primary format” for North Texas, the news release said.
In addition to the Fort Worth Central Market, H-E-B operates others in Southlake, Dallas and Plano. The retailer now operates five Central Markets in north Texas and offers grocery delivery to the region and beyond.
The San Antonio-based chain bought locations in Lake Highlands, Uptown, northwest Dallas and Lakewood. “We are now evaluating the feasibility of each site to determine the most effective use of the properties”.
