New Photo of Pennywise Will Scare The “It” Out Of You

Studio bosses have released a second new image of Pennywise the clown from the reboot of Stephen King’s horror classic It.

Bill Skarsgård was recently announced as the actor tasked with taking on the role of the malevolent Pennywise, and any doubts that his incarnation of the killer clown would be dumbed down for a 12a-certificate audience have been dispelled with the first full look at the nightmare-inducing villain. “The costume definitely incorporates all these otherworldly past lives, if you will”, she says.

Once upon a time clowns were hilarious, fun individuals who were dressed up silly and meant no harm to anyone. This is just his preferred form to lure children to their doom.

Emmy-winning costume designer Janie Bryant (Deadwood, Mad Men) created the costume for the upcoming film.

It will go to open in 8th Sep 2017, and also stars Jeremy Ray Taylor, chosen Jacobs, Wyatt Oleff Chosen, Jack Dylan Grazer, Finn Wolfhard and JAeden Lieberher.

“If you look at the sleeves, there are the two puffs off the shoulder and biceps and again on the bloomers, I wanted it to have an organic, gourd or pumpkin kind of effect”.

Skarsgard’s costume draws elements from several time periods, including the Renaissance and Victorian eras.

On removing most of the color: “The pompoms are orange, and then with the trim around the cuffs and the ankles, it’s basically a ball fringe that’s a combination of orange, red, and cinnamon”.
