Mother Who Allegedly Drowned Children Facing Capital Murder Charges
When he asked her what she was doing, she said she needed to move from her house immediately. He asked the woman where her two children were and she responded “matter-of-factly” that she killed the children, Smith told reporters. Investigators are still trying to determine what possible motive the mother had for drowning her two children.

Smith said the man eventually realized something was wrong when he asked again and got the same answer, so he drove the woman to a police precinct.
A Houston mother has been charged with capital murder after she told a friend that she had killed her two children and hidden their bodies under the next-door neighbour’s house, said Texas law enforcement officials.
The mother apparently tried to bury the children but when that proved too hard she hid their bodies under a neighbor’s house, Smith said.
Thomas-Smith told the Chronicle that Thomas had no mental health issues that she knew of. He says “all indications” are she acted alone in killing her 7-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter.
According to court documents, Child Protective Services placed Sheborah Latrice Thomas’ children with their maternal grandmother after Thomas’ daughter was found with the man. That neighbor, Armando Selgo, is in shock, telling Eyewitness News in a translated interview, “It’s very sad”.
In court filings, CPS officials said Thomas and her children had been homeless in 2012 and Thomas had a history of drug use. She goes to the store … to me, she was, like, a real nice person.
Kita Smith told ABC 13 in another report that she was the aunt of the children. According to Fox 11, Thomas had an acquaintance approach her when she was throwing trash away. He said the mother appeared to be acting normal on Saturday night and was smoking out in front of her home Saturday evening.
Thomas allegedly told police that she killed her two younger children Friday morning and put their bodies, wrapped in bedsheets, in a trash can behind her house. Investigators said she drowned them Friday. “We will be working along with HPD to find out what happened and to make sure any other child or sibling in that home is safe”. Thomas then reportedly told the person what she had done.
Smith told of having taken care of the children for their mother in the past.

Offered neighbor, Dee Davis via the Houston Chronicle:’I never would have thought she would do that. The mother from Houston did have a third child, a 12-year-old boy.
