Trump Continues to Lag Behind Clinton in New Polls
Donald Trump leads with 44 percent to 38 percent for Hillary Clinton, 6 percent for Gary Johnson, 2 percent for Jill Stein, and less than half a percent for Evan McMullin. Obama won those voters by a on his way to a four-point victory in the state four years ago. Clinton’s advantage over the NY businessman decreases to seven points among likely voters when third-party candidates Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green Party nominee Jill Stein are added. That number drops to 17 per cent for Trump.

More Trump voters – about 9 in 10 – say they are certain they will vote, while about 8 in 10 Clinton supporters say the same.
Trump’s strongest showing was in the southwest part of the state, a portion of the state that relies on coal mining as a crucial part of the region’s economy. A recent NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist College poll of Virginia’s registered voters showed Clinton leading by 13 percent, 46-33.
Should Republicans abandon funding Trump’s campaign, Hillary Clinton could do what many viewed as impossible. Clinton has a 43 percent unfavorability rating, compared to Trump’s 56 percent rating.
In recent national polling, Clinton leads head-to-head match-ups against Trump, with the Democrat holding 47.7 percent support compared to 41 percent for the NY businessman, according to averages compiled by RealClear Politics.
Trump also carries far lower numbers with independents than Romney did. Even among Democrats and Democratic-leaners of her own party, just 12 percent say she is honest and trustworthy, whereas 19 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaners say Trump is honest and trustworthy.
A new USA TODAY/Rock the Vote poll released on Sunday night finds that Trump is heading toward the worst showing among younger voters in American history.
