According to TMZ, the former couple reached an agreement on Tuesday (16.08.16) – just one day before divorce proceedings were set to begin – which will see Johnny, 53, pay Amber, 30, seven million U.S. dollars (AUD$9 million). Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have reached a settlement in their highly-publicised and dramatic divorce, with Depp agreeing to pay Heard US$7 million.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have agreed to resolve their divorce proceeding privately.
Heard has thereby withdrawn allegations that her estranged husband physically abused her and has retracted her request for a restraining order, which she filed on April 27 in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Heard filed to divorce Depp on May 23, citing irreconcilable differences.
In court papers, the 30-year-old actress said Johnny had a “history of drug and alcohol abuse” and been “verbally and physically abusive” for the entirety of their four-year-relationship.
She submitted photographs appearing to show her bruised face, which she said was a result of Johnny throwing a mobile phone at her.
A second shocking detail in the documents states that the restraining order has been dismissed as well.
“The denial came after it was revealed that Depp, 53, allegedly cut the tip of his finger off during a rage and dipped it in blue paint to write the words ‘Starring Billy Bob and Easy Amber” on a mirror.
“I am extremely afraid of Johnny and for my safety”, the actress said in her declaration for a restraining order. A hearing which was due to take place at the court on Wednesday had been cancelled, the spokeswoman added.

Depp, one of Hollywood’s top actors and box-office draws with franchises such as “Pirates of the Caribbean”, married Heard, known for “Friday Night Lights”, in February 2015 after meeting on the set of the 2011 film “The Rum Diary“. At the time, Depp was still with his partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, and he later stated that his relationship with Heard did not begin until after he and Paradis separated in 2012.
