Russian Greco-Roman wrestler, Davit Chakvetadze, has brought his country’s Olympic squad its 10th gold medal at the Rio Games.
Madsen’s silver gives Denmark seven medals, just three off their lofty double-digit pre-tournament expectations, and several more look to be in the mail.
Madsen has now finished second in the world five times.
South Korea’s former world champion Kim Hyeon-woo, the London 2012 gold medallist at 66kg, defeated Croatia’s Bozo Starcevic in the first bronze medal match.
The 2015 World Champion defeated Shinobu Ota of Japan by technical superiority (8-0) to complete his flawless run. “I kept looking over at Borrero Molina’s gold when we were on the medals podium and thinking how cool it looks”, he said.
Currently, Ukraine has won four silver medals and one bronze medal at the Rio Olympics.
Norway’s Stig-Andre Berge then beat Bayramov for the bronze.
