Police arrested six people in riots overnight in Milwaukee.

“People are just so angry”, he said. He pointed out that the city saw disruptions on Sunday night, after his race had been publicized, though the intensity was less than the previous night.
A police officer was taken to hospital to be treated for an injury after protesters threw a rock that broke the windshield of a squad auto.
A city-wide curfew for teenagers began late on Monday at 10 p.m. (0300 GMT).
The curfew earlier applied to teenagers up to and including 16-year-olds.
A Chicago-based communist revolutionary group blamed by Milwaukee’s police chief for stoking a second day of violence said that some of its members did go there to “support a revolution” but didn’t set out to cause trouble.
Barrett has repeatedly asked parents and guardians to keep their children away from the Sherman Park neighborhood. It’s in the custody of the state Justice Department, which is leading the investigation into the shooting.
Local official Khalif Rainey, who represents the area where the disturbances took place, suggested further unrest could take place if the underlying problems affecting Milwaukee’s black residents, such as poverty and joblessness, are not resolved.
“I hope I never see it again”, Barrett said. He said that the city “made it to 11:30 p.m.” without any incident. There were no other reports of injuries and no major destruction of property after six businesses were burned in the unrest Saturday.
Although the initial shooting that touched off the violence is the focus of a state inquiry, officials in Milwaukee, as required by law, have signaled that they believe the 24-year-old police officer was justified when he opened fire and killed Sylville K. Smith, 23. The state is investigating.
Milwaukee’s police department was also the subject of protests in 2014 after an officer killed a mentally ill, unarmed black man. Meanwhile, the National Guard is on standby if Milwaukee authorities say they need help.
“This was, quite frankly, unanticipated”, he said at a press conference Monday.
‘There is ample opportunity for second-guessing, I’m sure, ‘ Flynn said.
Barrett also praised pastors and community group leaders who are engaged in trying to keep the peace, saying they are making the situation better.
“People are afraid of each other”, resident Reginald Jackson said a year ago. The chief says there were 14 arrests for disorderly conduct. Police also said an injured officer was taken to hospital after a rock broke the windshield of a squad auto. Mr Sterling was shot during a struggle with two white police officers.
“This is not the place where you go to gawk; it is not the place where you go to take pictures; it is not the place to drive your vehicle around”, Mayor Barrett told a news conference on Monday.
Police Chief Edward Flynn says 23-year-old Sylville Smith ran from a auto after it was stopped for what authorities described as suspicious behavior. The chief says many people outside the neighborhood are using that for their own agendas. Multiple deputies have not yet returned to duty. When police moved in and threatened arrests if the crowd didn’t disperse, some threw rocks, concrete and debris at the cops.
An 18-year-old male was shot in the neck during the chaos.
Despite the violence, police said the National Guard had not been called in, as authorities worked to restore order.
A man was shot and injured early Monday as weekend violence and rioting sparked by an officer-involved shooting of a black man Saturday spilled into early Monday morning in Milwaukee.
According to NBC News, tensions in the Sherman park neighbourhood remain high two days after the fatal shooting. There has been no update on his condition.
The mayor said four officers had been taken to the hospital, but all had been released.
