Donald Trump Leads Hillary Clinton By Only 6 Points In Texas

The poll showed that although Trump has a lead among white voters in Florida – 51% to 37% – Clinton benefits from a gender split. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson picks up 6 percent of the vote in Texas while Green Party candidate Jill Stein received 2 percent support.

Diving deeper into the numbers, PPP found that Trump’s lead is based primarily with his support from seniors who prefer him 63-33 percent over Clinton.

And Trump is faring worse among the state’s white voters than Mitt Romney, who carried the group by 24 points in his 2012 race against Barack Obama. In 2008, Obama pulled in 99 percent of the African-American vote. The 6-point margin in Clinton’s favor is narrowed from a 23-point margin among all women voters.

“It just absolutely bewilders me when I hear Donald Trump try to talk about national security”, Mrs Clinton said, pointing to United States vice president Joe Biden’s dissection of Mr Trump’s foreign policy at a Pennsylvania event on Monday.

Among the state’s booming Hispanic population Clinton edges out Trump 68 percent to 27 percent.

But when white Texans were polled they preferred the Republican 69 percent to 25 percent, the new poll shows.

A GOP Congressman does not believe that Donald Trump is trying to win the presidential election and that his close friendship with Clinton will help her win.

Curbelo also argued that Trump’s decision to campaign in states such as CT that he has “no chance of winning” benefits Clinton. As The Times pointed out, the Democratic nominee has a team of volunteers at her rallies ready to register voters.

But Clinton smiled and suggested that it could happen. “We’d rather wait until the summer is coming to an end and the Olympics are over”, he said.

Clinton has the support of 50 percent of voters and Trump is backed by 41 percent, which closely mirrors last week’s result in the same survey conducted by the NBC News and the Survey Monkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll. She narrowly edges past the GOP nominee in the key swing states of OH and Iowa. Previous surveys, including one commissioned by Democrats, have found Trump’s lead ranging from seven to 11 points.
