“Neither party has lied nor made false accusations for financial gain”, the statement reads.
The acrimonious divorce of Johnny Depp and his estranged wife, Amber Heard, has finally been settled, shortly after video surfaced of the Pirates of the Caribbean star reportedly smashing items in a home he shared with the model and actress in Australia.
Sources claim that Depp agreed to pay Heard $7 million to settle, including attorneys fees. Amber claimed that Depp physically abused her back in May, but has now withdrawn her request for a restraining order. The fights in question date around April 22, on May 21, in March of 2015, and in December of 2015.
At the time, Depp was still with his partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, and he later stated that his relationship with Heard did not begin until after he and Paradis separated in 2012.
She filed for divorce a few days prior, the week his latest film, “Alice Through the Looking Glass” hit theaters – and tanked at the box office, possibly due in part to the negative publicity ignited by his unraveling domestic life.
“I live in fear that Johnny will return to (our house) unannounced to terrorize me, physically, and emotionally”, Heard said in papers filed during her court appearance in April. Amber accused Johnny of domestic violence and recently provided photographic evidence that was very damaging.
“The denial came after it was revealed that Depp, 53, allegedly cut the tip of his finger off during a rage and dipped it in blue paint to write the words ‘Starring Billy Bob and Easy Amber” on a mirror. The trade reports that Depp never showed up for a deposition scheduled for this past weekend, while Heard flew in from London to give hers.

The pair, who met on the set of “The Rum Diary” in 2009, have been embroiled in a contentious split for months, with charges of bad behavior levied by both sides. “So, yeah. The trajectory of that relationship – you play it out until it goes, one thing leads to another”.
