The 34-year-old is yet to feature for Aston Villa this season under new boss Roberto Di Matteo following the club’s relegation from the English Premier League and it’s understood the club would be happy to offload the player.
“It’s obviously hard for a club with Rangers’ resources to be competing for players against English Premier League clubs but sometimes the little things make a big difference”.
Lescott has been linked with Leeds United already this summer, but it is unclear how firm the Whites’ interest is in the former Manchester City star. The former England worldwide still has a year left on his current deal with Villa, but he doesn’t feature in the plans of manager Roberto De Matteo and has been asked to train with the reserves.

Lescott has failed to make any appearances in Villa’s 3 opening games of the Championship season thus far, and a move looks extremely likely to occur.
