North Korea has threatened to take “physical action” against the THAAD deployment, saying any South Korean ports and airfields hosting U.S. military hardware would become a target.

The Chief of Staff of the US Army is in China for talks with top Chinese army commanders.
Seongju residents, enraged at the unilateral announcement without advance notice or discussions, opposed the deployment on worries about environmental and health hazards coming from the THAAD’s X-band radar that emits super-strong microwaves.
Chinese state media have published daily attacks against the US and South Korea over the missile defense system, and China has canceled events involving South Korean entertainers.
Almost 30,000 North Koreans have fled poverty and repression at home to settle in the capitalist South. China also appears to be withholding support at the United Nations for condemnations of North Korea’s missile programs.
Milley would also visit the PLA’s Academy of Military Science to exchange views with faculty and students.
Chinese state media have published daily attacks against the USA and South Korea, and China has cancelled events involving South Korean entertainers.
U.S. Army Chief of Staff General Mark A. Milley addresses a crowd of dignitaries, officials and military servicemembers at the National Defense University of Warsaw on Monday, June 6, 2016.
The general’s visit is also surrounded by tensions following an worldwide arbitration panel’s ruling last month that China could not claim islands in the disputed South China Sea, which have rival claims by Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Japan last week called in the Chinese ambassador to protest over a large increase in the number of Chinese coast guard and fishing ships operating in waters surrounding the islands, called the Senkakus by Japan and the Diaoyus by China. He will then travel on to another key USA ally and Chinese rival, Japan.
The article was titled, “United States, who are you”, according to Pyongyang’s state news agency KCNA.
