However, conservative Hispanics say that immigration is not the only issue the group is anxious about and Trump’s focus on domestic issues, the economy and national security makes him the right choice. German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said last month he would put at risk US and world security with his “politics of fear and isolation”. They want party leaders to acknowledge that backing his White House bid is a waste of time and money.

Following a private meeting between Trump’s campaign and the RNC, which Trump himself was not slated to attend, Priebus took the stage in Erie, Pa., to introduce his party’s nominee – an unusual cameo in any election cycle.
