Her sister Bronte finished 7th but leaves Rio with the gold medal she won with her sister in the women’s 4x100m freestyle relay.

Gold medalists Kathleen Baker, Lilly King, Dana Vollmer and Simone Manuel of United States of America pose with their medals after winning the women’s 4x100m medley relay at 2016 Rio Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 13, 2016.

Coming into the games, we didn’t hear much about Manuel and instead focused on the other Simone, the gymnast who has a chance of winning a record five gold medals in the Olympics, but it’s Manuel who has had a surprising impact.

On the final night of pool swimming in Rio, the USA won the race in a time of 3:53.13, ahead of Australia (3:55.00) and Denmark (3:55.01).

The U.S. has dominated the event since 2006 and now has 11 straight world and Olympic titles, an outstanding dynasty in team sports. Ri Se-Gwang of North Korea earned the gold medal in the men’s vault, with Ablyazin taking the silver for Russian Federation and Kenzo Shirai of Japan taking the bronze. The USA remains firmly at the top of the table with 69 medals, 26 of them gold.

James Connolly won the first for the U.S.in 1896, and of course no one has added more to the total than Michael Phelps, who has 22 golds entering his presumed Olympic finale Saturday night.

Whatever the real number, the U.S.is the first to reach four figures — in a landslide.

Greg’s reign as the Olympic long jump champion sadly came to an end, but he managed to come back from fourth to bring home a medal for Team GB, behind USA’s Jeff Henderson, and South Africa’s Luvo Manyonga.

But aside for the official Olympic Committees from each country, there are other organizations which offer prizes to medal-winning athletes, including the American Soccer Federation and Swimming Australia, just to name two. And so far the Americans have been delivering even more than we expected.
