Brandon Crawford tied an NL record in insane Giants-Marlins game
The pharmacy called. It s on backorder.

Crawford went 7-for-8 in the Giants’ 14-inning, 8-7 win over the Miami Marlins, becoming the sixth player ever to record at least seven hits in a Major League game.
“I try to take every at-bat separate whether I’m 0 for 4 with four strikeouts or 6 for 7”, Crawford said. Add in that they were facing a washed up pitcher, and clearly, Crawford’s game was better. In between, Matt Carpenter drove in two runs with a single and Brandon Moss tied it when he walked with the bases loaded. Then Bochy lifted him on a double-switch.
“Hunter will tell you his timing is off”, Bochy said. “That’s the game. That’s baseball”.
Crawford delivered the go-ahead hit on Cashner’s second pitch to score Belt. The hit scored Brandon Belt, although Crawford was thrown out while trying to take second base on the throw. “I don’t know”, Miami manager Don Mattingly said.
The Giants (64-49) barely threatened against right-hander Tom Koehler, and unlike Monday night, they could not roar back against the Marlins bullpen.
Texas has a more comfortable lead in the American League West, with a late rally at Colorado keeping them seven games clear of Seattle, which had a shutout win over Detroit.
The Marlins and Giants kept swinging and ducking potential knockout blows like a couple of heavyweights on their last legs in the 15th round.
“Exhausting”, Crawford said. “I’m exhausted right now”. If the division is tied, it’s not going to ruin our season. This team’s dynasty started in 2010, and this 8-7 win in Miami really might be the most memorable regular season win in that seven season span. The Giants, who only have five quality starts in 22 games since the All-Star break, were on the doorstep of clinching a losing road trip with two games still to play.
But Moore, who has walked 11 over his two starts, was disconsolate. Dee Gordon walked, Martin Prado singled and Stanton hit a one-out double that one-hopped the wall in left field. Marcell Ozuna capped the inning with an RBI groundout. “We did a lot of good things to stay in that game”.
The Giants never gave him a shot to win. From his knees on the outfield grass, Hechavarria fired to second just ahead of Nunez to end the inning.
Hunter Pence and Joe Panik aren’t yet up to speed after lengthy stints on the disabled list.
“We talk all year about the lineup”, Wotus said. “Still, it’s not clicking”.
The post Giants notes: Bruce Bochy returns from irregular heartbeat with new prescription, fresh appreciation appeared first on Giants Extra.
“It’s insane to me”, Crawford said.
“What do you have to do to get that guy out?”
That s especially important when you have a heart condition.
“That’s the plan now”, athletic trainer Dave Groeschner said in a text to AP.
Bochy underwent a heart procedure in February 2015 to insert two stents but it isn’t known whether or not he is experiencing more heart issues. He was to be monitored overnight and is expected back on the bench Tuesday night.

“There’s no guarantee, but they don’t see anything happening”, said Bochy, 61. “I don’t anticipate having another episode of this”.
