Twitter goes crazy for Usain Bolt’s winning grin
Usain Bolt sprinted into history, winning his third consecutive 100-metre gold medal in the Olympics and becoming the first athlete to do so.

Bolt’s time of 20.28 seconds was more than a second slower than the 19.19 world record he has his sights on beating by the time the event ends on Thursday. At the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow, photographer Oliver Morin captured an incredible photo of Bolt sprinting just as lightning flashed above the stadium. Having won the gold medal in the 100 meter event already, Bolt will be way more confident than all others who would be taking art in the event. “It’s a good start and I’m happy”. Yohann Blake, a silver medal victor at the London Games four years ago, clocked a time of 20.13 seconds while Nickel Ashmeade finished with a time of 20.15. “Akani Simbine from SA, Justin Gatlin from the US, Jimmy Vicaut from France, Usain Bolt from Jamaica, Canada’s Andre De Grasse, Ivory Coast’s en Youssef Meite and Yohan Blake cross the finish line”. “I think the semifinals, I can tell what shape I’m in, how I’m feeling”. Last night when he flew past me with ideal technique and his huge stride, he looked back and smiled; I only had a moment to capture this epic Olympic moment, but I was in the right place, ready.
“He runs just like me”, Usain Bolt says of Canadian sprinter.
“I know how to run a 200m”.
During the race, Gatlin got off to a great start, but at about the 60-meter mark, Bolt accelerated past the competition to win in 9.81 seconds.
They’ve got more recovery time for the 200 semifinals, which are scheduled for 9 p.m. ET Wednesday.

Gemili was the breakthrough star of 2012, fast-tracked into the Olympic team just weeks after winning a world junior title and just months after he quit his football ambitions to focus on athletics. The Jamaican great defeated American rival Justin Gatlin by.08 seconds for his seventh Olympic gold medal.
