Ezekiel Elliott (hamstring) returned to Cowboys practice Tuesday

OXNARD, Calif. – Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott had his most extensive work in practice since being sidelined by a sore right hamstring on August 2, but he did not take part in a full session.

Elliott (hamstring) has been ruled out of Friday’s preseason matchup with the Dolphins, Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

So when do you get to see Zeke’s pro debut?

“I don’t feel behind at all”, said Elliott, sidelined for what the team says our precautionary reasons due to a tight hamstring. “You can’t rush it back, it can turn into a six-, seven-week out injury”. It’s possible he plays in the Cowboys’ second preseason game, but we expect the team to be cautious with him so he doesn’t suffer a setback.

“I think I do”.

Whenever Elliott does return to full strength, he figures he’ll have it pretty good behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

“I think I need to get back out here, get some game reps so I can be ready for Week 1”, Elliott said. “I get to run behind the best O-line in America”, Elliott said to the Dallas Morning News.
