Leeds sign Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt
Midfielder Liam Bridcutt has spoken of his delight at being back at Leeds United after his move for an undisclosed fee from Sunderland was finally confirmed today.

Sunderland have reached a “financial agreement” to effectively cancel the final year of the midfielder’s contract and free him up for an Elland Road transfer.
The Scotland worldwide enjoyed a loan spell with Leeds last season and impressed the fans – who were desperate to see him return to Elland Road on a permanent basis.
He and Sunderland shook hands on a settlement last week, however, and despite a further delay in finalising personal terms with Leeds over the weekend, a two-year contract was agreed earlier today.
In a statement on the club’s website, Bridcutt said: “It feels good to be back”.
“I enjoyed myself here last season”. He was nominated for Leeds player of the year last season but ultimately lost out to Charlie Taylor.
“I was very happy here, now we have new management and the persistence from Leeds was all I wanted”.
“The fans were also a key aspect of me signing here again”.
“They were brilliant with me past year – I felt like I connected with Leeds as soon as I came here and it was a team I wanted to play for”.
Jansson will be hoping to have better luck in earning minutes on the pitch at Elland Road, where he will have to battle with Liam Cooper, Sol Bamba and Kyle Bartley for a centre-back spot.
Garry Monk will be delighted by the capture of Bridcutt following the club’s disastrous start to their Championship season.
“I’m very pleased to have him through the door – I know what he’s capable of”.

“Again, he’ll be a good asset along with (Lewie) Coyle who’s done well in the pre-season games”.
