Rudy Giuliani forgets about 9/11

It wasn’t the first time the former mayor seems to have forgotten that Bush was president on 9-11.

Rudy Giuliani has recently become Donald Trump’s biggest (and perhaps only) cheerleader and in his haste to defend the recent commentary of the beleaguered presidential candidate, he has apparently made a decision to rewrite the history of the nation.

The former NYC mayor is now facing heat for the absent-minded slip.

Giuliani was mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001, during which time the World Trade Center was the target of the attacks of September 11, 2001, in which the city’s twin towers were destroyed and nearly 3,000 people were killed when commercial airliners were hijacked by members of al Qaeda and deliberately flown into the buildings.

But his comments Monday may have permanently hurt his legacy, as social media users criticized him repeatedly. “They all started when Clinton and Obama got into office”, Giuliani said ahead of Trump’s speech on national security. As the mayor of New York City from 1994 until 2001, it was odd when he suggested that no terrorist attack had occurred prior to Obama’s presidency. One would think there’d never be a need for Giuliani to make this statement, but his Monday statements really led folks to wonder. Bush suggested his brother, former President George W. Bush, “kept us safe” when he was in the White House. However, nothing was more closely affiliated with his term as mayor than the attack on the World Trade Center in Manhattan.

The Daily News reported that Giuliani has made the outlandish claim regarding 9/11 before. “And as 9/11 survivor I feel I can say this describes Rudy Giuliani pretty well”, she added along with a picture of an explicit word. What does that mean ‘after that?’ I don’t know.
