Sean Murray discusses how PS4 Neo would change No Man’s Sky
A few days ago Sony began warning early No Man’s Sky players that the day-one patch would essentially make their save files obsolete, as significant changes are due to be made to the game.

Pretty confusing stuff. But thanks to the efforts of the fearless Psytokat and TheSadCactus, we now at least have some clarification on whether it’s possible to actually encounter other players in-game.
Oddly, one thing he did not address is the fact that the two players that met up were unable to see or interact with each other in any way. Following the anticlimactic meeting, Murray took to Twitter to attempt to shed some light on subject, saying: “We hope to see those [things] happening. but too many of you are playing right now”. While each game is complete on its own, it isn’t a grand unified universe like we might have wanted.
No Man’s Sky is built around a shared universe, where players can feasibly end up bumping into their friends – even though it’s unlikely to happen, given the enormous number of planets to explore. The game went live on Monday for those players who have purchased an early copy of it.
Player TheSadCactus noticed this afternoon that he had landed on a planet discovered by a different player, named Psytokat. “We added online features, and some Easter Eggs to create cool moments” he tweeted, before continuing. However, when the two appeared in the same location, they were unable to see each other. Murray explains that as No Man’s Sky is procedurally generated “more powerful hardware doesn’t just mean upgraded textures or a higher framerate”. Murray has also been with implications that the amount of people now playing No Man’s Sky might be.
Since its announcement, there has been a lot of hype surrounding the release of “No Man’s Sky” as it is expected to present a large universe, inhabited by a quintillion of explorable planets.
