Germany arrests man planning terrorist attack at local festival
German police have found no sign of any planned attack in the flat of a 27-year-old man who was arrested, authorities say, contradicting initial reports that the suspect had been plotting a terrorist act.

In July, Germany witnessed a number of terror attacks allegedly organized by the Islamic State terror group, which is outlawed in Russian Federation and many other countries.
The rbb broadcaster cited the Brandenburg police president, Hans-Juergen Moerke, as saying the suspicion of terrorism could not be ruled out.
He said the man was known to police due to drug-related crimes and threats.
Security sources told dpa the man had been planning to attack a festival in Eisenhttenstadt with explosives later this month.
The annual festival, where there will be a fairground, circus and a variety of musicians performing on stage, will begin with a lantern procession on August 26 and run until August 28.

A police spokesman in Frankfurt an der Oder, a city of just north of Eisenhuettenstadt, said explosives had been found in the man’s home after a search with sniffer dogs.
