It’s not the first time she has tackled a love triangle in her lyrics – her classic tune Jolene, which features the lines “I’m begging of you please don’t take my man”. Dolly exclaimed during a recent interview with Digital Spy. “I love how she looks, I love how she sings, I love how she is”, says Parton.

Dolly is tremendously proud of the songs on her 43rd studio album, revealing the tracks are about “all the colours of love”. “On ‘Head over High Heels, ‘ when I say, ‘I put on my tight dress, hair piled on my head, painting my lips red and my eyes like Adele!'”. Occasionally, it goes so far that it works – the bouncy, catchy, nostalgic I’m Sixteen is all about her “young at heart” outlook. I mean, love is love: Whether it’s right or wrong, you can not stop it. Can’t Be That Wrong eschews Parton’s upbeatness for doubt as she questions God in the context of infidelity. “I would love to do something with her”.

Parton has been known to write songs every day.

Now that the invitation is out there, I’m sure Dolly Parton is waiting patiently for Adele’s response.
