Trump Remarks On National Security Sends Wrong Message: Clinton

“It’s time for our society to address some honest and very very hard choices”, he said. As I’ve reported, Democrats believe Trump may have presented a unique opportunity to deepen the contrast – in the minds of a whole generation of coming-of-age voters – between a GOP branded by Trump’s Fortress America lack of curiosity about the world, his fondness for vicious abusiveness, his relentless appeal to voters’ basest instincts, and his white ethno-nationalism, and a Democratic Party that is embracing culturally and demographically evolving America. Thirty-six percent of those surveyed said they view the former secretary of state favorably, with 50 percent having an unfavorable view.

‘The main victims of these riots are law abiding African Americans living in these neighborhoods, ‘ Trump said, speaking to a mostly white crowd in West Bend, about 45 minutes outside of Milwaukee, a diverse city where he held no public events Tuesday.

Clinton won the Democratic nomination in part thanks to her large victory margins among minorities in almost every state, including overwhelming support from African-Americans in the South. They just assume they’ll get their support.

He said they would come ‘and take everybody’s job, including low income, African Americans.

These factors have played key roles in Trump’s plunging poll numbers against Clinton, the Journal reports.

Trump – who used a TelePrompter, despite his previous vocal disdain of its use by other candidates, including Hillary Clinton – also claimed that the Democratic nominee “is against the police”, and is one of many on his foes “peddling the narrative of cops as a racist force in our society”.

Trump says “we reject the bigotry” of the Clinton campaign, which he says talks down to minority groups and only sees African-Americans as votes. “She doesn’t care at all about the hurting people of this country, or the suffering she has caused them”, he said.

The speech revived Mr. Trump’s vow to be the “law and order candidate”, which he first declared in a similar speech last month in response to the sniper ambush that killed five Dallas police officers at a Black Lives Matter demonstration over police-involved shootings of black citizens. Police body camera footage showed Smith holding a handgun during the encounter, police said.

He told Fox News that the shooting in Milwaukee may have occurred because the officer had a gun to his head. ‘You’re supposed to talk him out of it?’ “Maybe it’s not true”.

Trump said 2,600 people have been shot in Chicago since the beginning of the year and nearly 4,000 people killed in Obama’s hometown area since the beginning of his presidency.

Trump also accused Clinton and Democrats of deepening racial divides and fostering “the risky anti-police atmosphere in America”. “The problem in our poorest communities is not that there are too many police, the problem is that there are not enough police”.

Trump will campaign in North Carolina on Thursday.

Trump’s support has experienced wider shifts ranging from 33 per cent to 39 per cent while his campaign has endured controversies and distractions in recent weeks.

If Clinton wins these things are on the agenda
