According to a spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan, the issue of ” unprovoked Ceasefire Violations at LoC”, was raised with the Indian Deputy High Commissioner.
“Pak fired small arms and mortars while own troops retaliated effectively with similar calibre weapons”, he added.
His remraks came after Pakistani troops resorted to heavy overnight shelling in Poonch and Balakote sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. “No casualty or damage reported”, the spokesman said.
The Pakistani troops have violated the ceasefire for the fifth day on Thursday.
Pakistan urged India to stop forthwith the ceasefire violations and observe the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding to create peace and tranquility at the LoC and the Working Boundary.
“Pakistani troops gave a befitting response to the Indian firing“, Radio Pakistan quoted ISPR as saying.
In a statement, the Foreign Office Spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said that last month 37 unprovoked ceasefire violations were committed by the Indian security forces at the LoC and the Working Boundary.
In July, there were 19 ceasefire violations in which four persons, including three jawans, were killed and 14 others injured.

While on August 9th, The troop moved ahead and started firing with automatic weapons and mortar shells in the Mandi-Sabzaiyan sector of Poonch.
