Netflix is coming to hotels

The agreement struck with the hotels ensures that guests could access their Netflix account through the internet-linked guest room televisions in the hotels.

The two companies were already working together on Enseo’s product, the Enseo Entertainment Experience, which also provides access to other streaming services like YouTube, Pandora, Hulu and Crackle.

This isn’t the first time the streaming video service provider struck a deal with the hospitality unit.

Enseo’s Room Operating Center (eROC™) powers guest experiences including streaming Over-The-Top (OTT) applications like Netflix, as well as enabling guests to listen to their own music using Enseo’s Bluetooth audio.

Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) and Enseo signed an agreement expanding Enseo’s rights to now distribute the. As a reminder, Netflix announced its global expansion in January, bringing 130 new countries on board.

At the end of the second quarter, Netflix had total memberships of 83.18 million with the addition of 1.68 million subscribers in the second quarter. However, its worldwide subscriber base only grew by 1.5 million in the last quarter – a disappointment for which the company blamed China’s regulatory climate. Backed by a world-class platform of powerful hardware, flexible software, and technology-based services, Enseo has designed a platform that continues to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of hotel brands, hotel owners, and most importantly, the guest. Today, Enseo has system in over 300 hotels in the US, and Netflix is also available in hundreds of those properties. They can access Netflix’s app on the guest room TV through Netflix logo on the TV menu.
