Not usually lacking in confidence, Usain Bolt had a good feeling about how Sunday’s 100-metre race might end. “I am better this season”, he said. I will go out there and leave it all on the track.

“It is special. When I was 13, I remember I first watched the Olympics, and seeing Usain [Bolt] win gold back-to-back, before I even started track”.
Meanwhile, Bolt’s long time rival Justin Gatlin of America and Canada’s Andre Grasse have also qualified for the semi-finals after winning their respective heats.
On an inspirational note, Bolt said, “If you work towards your goal, you will always accomplish what you dream”. It wasn’t among the 10 fastest times he’s ever put on the board.
American Justin Gatlin, the silver medalist, said the quick turnaround sapped his strength so much, he couldn’t even think about winning. “So I’d just like to see everyone have respect in the audience as well”.

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange – who has already begun planning a welcome home reception for the team said “Jamaica will truly honour Bolt and the rest of the team for what they have achieved”.

Bolt has a chance for two more golds – in his favorite race, Thursday’s 200 final, where he has pronounced he’ll be gunning for the world record, then the 4×100 relay Saturday night.
