Ravens wideout Steve Smith passes physical, will practice soon
The Ravens wide receiver has passed his physical and will come off the physically unable to perform list soon. He’s expected to return to practice in some capacity as early as Monday.

The announcement was made on the Ravens’ Twitter account Wednesday afternoon. He is now slated as the No. 1 wideout on the Ravens and with question marks surrounding Breshad Perriman’s injury status, Smith’s availability and contributions to the team become even more significant.
All three are expected to play in the regular season opener against the Buffalo Bills on September 11. That means he will be on the practice field in the coming days.
That would be plenty soon enough for the 37-year-old Smith, who has never hidden his distaste for the preseason. Suggs also returned from an Achilles tear in the Ravens’ season-opening loss to the Denver Broncos last September.

Smith is our 52nd-ranked fantasy receiver, and we project him to catch 51 passes for 707 yards and score 3.89 touchdowns through the air. Outside linebacker Terrell Suggs returned to training camp earlier this week for the first time after suffering an Achilles injury in the team’s season opener previous year.
