Duffy, four homers lead Royals over Tigers

Cabrera’s injury has not been deemed severe, but losing the 33-year-old for even a couple of games at this point could hurt the Tigers’ postseason chances.

Hosmer restored Kansas City’s two-run lead with a seventh-inning homer to center field that was estimated at 443 feet. Cabrera left the game three innings later and was diagnosed with a biceps strain. He’s considered day to day, but could return as soon as Tuesday.

“I’m not whining – we have to come out and win a game tomorrow”, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said.

Ausmus said he would let Sanchez stay in the game as long if the no-hitter had remained intact.
