The White Sox jumped on Marlins starter Adam Conley and had a 4-0 lead by the top of the second inning. The 26-year-old outfielder hurt himself trying to stretch a single into a double Saturday.

Fernando Rodney gave up a solo home run to Anderson in the top of the ninth, and four hits in the inning. He is 8-6 with a 3.94 ERA in 24 starts this season.

“Sometimes we need to catch breaks like that to win games, ” Navarro said. “It’s frustrating. It would be frustrating for anybody”. I just know I’m not winning games and that’s what I’m supposed to do.

Stanton was thrown out at second base to end the game while then collapsing right before reaching the bag due to what was being referred to as a lower body injury.

Sale said he was guilty of a brain cramp.

“The best part for me is I don’t have to face him with bad news every day”, manager Joe Girardi said earlier Sunday. The hit raised Koehler’s average to.103.

The Sox improved to 20-22 in one-run games.

“It goes to show you put the ball in play and good things happen”, Sale said. “It was a great throw”. Unfortunately, their standing will now be tested with news that right fielder Giancarlo Stanton will be lost for the season with a groin injury.

Shields allowed seven earned runs in three-plus innings, but Matt Albers, Dan Jennings, Chris Beck, Nate Jones, and David Robertson combined to hold the Marlins scoreless through the final six. Mike Dunn (3-1) pitched a flawless seventh.

Koehler, who gave up a homer to Adam Eaton on his first pitch of the game, had retired 13 of 14 hitters before Saladino led off the sixth with a single. It was his third leadoff homer of the season and the seventh of his career. The White Sox made it 2-0 in the first inning when Melky Cabrera doubled and scored on a one-out single by Jose Abreu. The playoff-contending Red Sox begin an 11-game trip Monday in Cleveland.

While there isn’t a whole lot the South Siders have to play for at this point other than pride, Sale has been more than frustrated with the results he has provided for the team. Hechavarria singled, advanced to second when Suzuki was hit by a pitch and scored on a single by Martin Prado. It is unclear whether the two are related, or when Stanton could be ready to play again. He finally limped off the field as the Chicago White Soxcelebrated an 8-7 victory over Miami on Saturday.
