There’s an important recall that football players, coaches, and parents in the Coastal Bend need to be aware of.

Xenith is issuing a recall for certain models of football helmets due to a head injury hazard.
The shells in the Xenith Epic Varsity, X2 Varsity, X2E Varsity and Youth football helmets can crack and pose a risk of head injury for children. The helmets, sold in multiple sizes, colors and custom-paint designs, have facemasks and chin cups and may have optional eye shields. The items were sold in stores, online and through team dealers and direct school sales. according to the Michigan-based company’s statement.
If you have a helmet recalled, stop using it immediately and contact Xenith for a replacement.
A label inside the helmet displays the serial number and the manufacturing date.

Federal law bars any person from selling products subject to a publicly-announced voluntary recall by a manufacturer or a mandatory recall ordered by the Commission. No injuries have been reported to the company.
